The project aims to enhance student learning by providing educational trips that connect classroom knowledge with real-world experiences, deepening their understanding of Cambodian culture, history, and social issues. These trips promote critical thinking and personal growth, helping students achieve academically. AHHA Education seeks funding to purchase a 24-seater bus to facilitate these field trips, offering underprivileged Cambodian youth transformative educational opportunities beyond the classroom.
How will we proceed?
PHASE 1 : VEHICLE ACQUISITION
After collaborating with the donor to determine their budget, we will purchase the most suitable vehicle option within that price range, based on our previous research
PHASE 2: VEHICLE INTEGRATION
After purchasing the vehicle, we will begin providing enriching field trips to
destinations such as the National Library, S21 Prison, Angkor Wat, and the
National Museum. Leveraging our local partnerships, we may collaborate with
organizations to enhance the educational experience by sponsoring meals, providing
accommodations, and offering resources at the trip destinations.
PHASE 3: MONITORING
To ensure ongoing sustainability of this project, we plan to track key metrics
related to field trip implementation, including student participation rates, feedback
from students and teachers, and impact on learning outcomes. We will regularly
evaluate field trip effectiveness based on our successes, challenges, and
recommendations for future improvements.
The Problem
AHHA Education faces a major challenge in providing a full educational experience due to the lack of reliable transportation for field trips. Limited financial resources prevent the organization from addressing this issue, restricting students' access to important learning experiences outside the classroom. Studies show that field trips enhance critical thinking, tolerance, empathy, and academic outcomes, especially for disadvantaged youth. Without a dedicated vehicle, most students miss out on visiting culturally significant sites and educational institutions, which are essential for fostering a deeper understanding of Cambodian culture, history, and identity.
Project Outcomes
Impacted Students and Staff
This vehicle will support comprehensive trips for our 150 boarding
students, plus smaller excursions for our 300 part-time students, and
50 teachers and volunteers within Phnom Penh.
Enhanced Cultural Understanding
By visiting important cultural sites in Cambodia, students can better understand and appreciate their heritage and history. This experience helps them become more aware and knowledgeable, contributing positively to their community.
Improved Engagement
Based on academic research, our field trips are expected to lead to
increased student motivation and a deeper interest in learning, helping
AHHA Education to fulfill its mission
